Multiple SMPP sessions and window size in a client channel

A client channel is not limited in number of SMPP sessions it can open. Alaris system establishes SMPP sessions according to the number of binds sent by the client side.
Alaris SMS platform can not control the window size on the client side since it tries to reply to each message as fast as possible. Keep in mind that Alaris SMS Platform may not be replying to some parts of a long message because it is waiting to receive all other parts of that long message to perform stateful concatenated processing.

In case a client has trouble establishing multiple binds, please check the following:

1. Bind type in channel settings: It must be the same type as used by the client. It is recommended to use Auto, to accept and work with any type of bind sent to Alaris system by the client.

2. Bind parameters: confirm with the client that they are using the same login, password and system type as those set up in their channel settings.

3. Traces for the said channel: system owner can export traces using Administration->Trace analyzer interface. To analyze traces please refer to the "SMPP connection troubleshooting" article from Alaris manual.

If any problems are encountered during trace analysis, please contact Alaris customer support with the .pcap file attached to the email.
