The reason of the status ROUTE FAILED

ROUTE FAILED doesn't usually mean that there's an issue with the routing. The status means that the vendor has responded with an error code other than 0x00 – that is, with an unsuccessful submit response.

The situation must be checked with the vendor (why their side responded with an error).

1) The error code can be found in EDRs. For example, in EDR Export (SMS) it is column Vendor status code:

The description of the returned error code is possible to be found in SMS\Routing\Translation rules\Code list:

2) You can use the TraceAnalyzer to capture traces for time period when the vendor responded with an unsuccessful submit response. Use the filter "smpp.destination_addr ==" in Wireshark. After that, find sequence number:

3) After that apply it as a filter. Then you will see the unsuccessful submit response with error code:

However, we'd recommend you to contact your vendor and clarify what this error code means on their system and provide mentioned traces.

If you encounter any difficulties with finding out the reasons of the status "ROUTE FAILED", you can contact Alaris support team by creating a HelpDesk ticket, providing examples of your situation (EDR and traces).
