Before starting the traffic exchange, partners set up TCP sessions through which they can send their attempts. In the System the main settings of connection with partners are located in Start/Carriers/SMS channels. Channels are divided into client and vendor ones, and if for client channels the number of binds is not limited, i.e. the client can have any number of connections to the System, vendor binds can be limited using the No. of connections setting, which is set to 0 by default:
In order to know what maximum number of binds can be established with a vendor, it is necessary to contact their support team, as the number of binds does not make any difference on the System level. Binds do not affect the TPS distribution. The total TPS the System works with is limited to the servers hardware and the number of the SMS processing modules. Usually, the System by default distributes TPS among almost all client connections; if one client starts sending more traffic than the others, the System handles their traffic accordingly, maintaining a higher TPS if the server capacity allows it. The settings that are responsible for TPS are Client capacity (sms/sec) and Vendor capacity (sms/sec) in SMS channels:
Binds are established depending on the selected type, there are 4 of them:
1. Auto — used for client connections, as in this case the type is specified by the party establishing the connection (client);
2. TX (transmitter) — the system can only send packets without the ability to receive a packet in response;
3. RX (receiver) — the system can only receive packets without the ability to send a packet in response;
4. TR (transmitter/receiver) — recommended for interconnection with vendors, as it allows both receiving and sending packets through the system.
